Zoe Ball to remain at Xfm for at least another year

LONDON – Zoe Ball, the former Radio 1 breakfast show host, is to continue to present her drivetime show on Capital Radio's Xfm station for at least another year.

Ball follows in the footsteps of star breakfast show presenter Christian O'Connell, who signed up to the station until 2005 in May.

Former Radio One breakfast show presenter Ball made her radio comeback when she joined Xfm last year. She initially stood in for Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant while they were writing the second series of the hit BBC Two show 'The Office' and decided to take over the drivetime slot in September.

Programme controller Andrew Phillips, said: "Zoe is really enjoying her radio show and we are delighted to see her commit to another year with Xfm. Her natural and enthusiastic attitude to broadcasting is making a good drivetime show here on Xfm."

Ball has had a turbulent 2003 so far. She had a highly publicised fling with DJ Dan Peppe and an even more high-profile split and later reunion with husband Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim.

Ball also hit the headlines last month when she almost came face to face with Peppe at a backstage party at Glastonbury, but she managed to avert any bad press by sidestepping a confrontation with him.
