British American Tobacco has appointed Zenith Media to handle the
centralised media account for its duty-free business.
The business, which is worth pounds 8 million, centres on international
strategic planning and buying, and covers outdoor and the European
press.
The media agency pitched against MindShare to land the business.
Zenith will work with Portland Outdoor, which looks after BAT’s airports
contract covering posters, point-of-sale and promotions.
The media account, which is overseen at BAT by worldwide media manager
David Sheridan, will be run out of Zenith Worldwide.
Zenith already handles BAT’s Benson & Hedges, State Express 555, Lucky
Strike and Kent brands. It has now added strategic planning for Rothmans
and Dunhill to its portfolio.
The media centralisation follows the merger of BAT and Rothmans last
year.
