Zed's Harrison joins DMA email marketing council

LONDON - The DMA has chosen Zed Media's Rupert Harrison to chair the legislation and best practice hub for the association's email marketing council.

Harrison will be responsible for furthering the interests of the best practice hub, which includes providing practical advice on raising emailing standards within the industry and improving client's email marketing results.

The DMA said the hub was set up to balance improving standards of email marketing with maximising results for clients, and that Harrison's previous experience at Zed Media would be vital to its objectives.

Harrison said email marketing is still largely unregulated and full of ambiguities, and that there is a real need for clear and definite rules that marketers can use as a benchmark to their email activities.

He said that the DMA is providing this standard and also helping industry professionals find their way through the legal maze.

"My aim is to ensure the hub is at the forefront of driving email marketing as a powerful and measurable communication channel. To do this the hub will be encouraging and enabling an industry wide awareness and commitment to best practice," Harrison said.

Harrison has more than eight years' list and data experience in B2B and B2C international markets.
