YouTube duo are digital's 'influencers'

YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, have been named the most influential people in digital marketing in the 2006 Revolution Power 50.

The two ex-PayPal executives have revolutionised online video consumption on Youtube.com, which allows users to upload and share video clips. At the last count, the site had 20 million unique users a month.

Hurley and Chen topped a list that includes MySpace European sales VP Jay Stevens in the top 10. New entries include Nigel Morris of Isobar, Mark Read of WPP and Caroline Slootweg, the new global digital director at Unilever.

The top agency chief was Profero founder Wayne Arnold.
