Yell.com posts £3m revenue improvement

Yell.com has reduced its EBITDA loss to £300,000 for the six months to 30 September 2002, down from £7.2 million in the equivalent period last year.

Revenue in the period of £9.8m was a £3m increase over last year. Page impressions in September were 39 million, an addition of 12 million.

A spokesman said the EBITDA improvement was due to the effect of start-up costs last year. He added that the online business also benefited from investments made in previous periods.

Revenue has grown as a result of improvements in site content and usability, making it easier for users to communicate with the site's advertisers, according to the spokesman.
