Yell.com backs Five dramas in £2m deal

Five has secured a £2m deal with UK local search engine, Yell.com, which will back its US crime dramas, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and sponsor the launch of a raft of new video on demand (VOD) services around the show.

Five's first foray into the VOD arena is expected to precede the launch of new digital channel Five US on 16 October.
It has entered a partnership with CSI's US production company, CBS, and international distributor Alliance Atlantis, to launch the services on the back of CSI:Crime Scene Investigation and its spin-offs CSI:Miami and CSI:NY.
They are to be the core of Five's new US-themed channel, which is due to launch along with another digital spin-off, Five Life.
The Yell deal was negotiated by Drum, PHD's content agency, and includes sponsorship of other shows, including The Shield, Law and Order and the newly acquired Criminal Minds series.
