Xfm set to simulcast from Manchester

GCap Media's Xfm is preparing to simulcast from its Manchester station for the first time in a shake-up of its London line-up.

The flagship Xfm station in London is undergoing a series of changes to its weekend schedule in the first reshuffle under programme director Adam Uytman.

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey's hit show, Payola, is to extend beyond its usual Manchester home on Sunday evenings and broadcast in London.

Though London shows are often broadcast in Scotland and Manchester, including the Lauren Laverne Saturday afternoon show, this is the first time GCap has used its Manchester station to air networked shows.

In other changes, The Rock Show, which is networked across all three Xfm stations, will move from Friday nights to Sunday, with one host for Manchester and London and another for Scotland.

Xfm launched in Manchester in March 2006, two months after GCap relaunched Beat 106 as Xfm Scotland.
