Xfm to go live in South Wales in November

LONDON - GCap Media has revealed it will launch its new Xfm South Wales station on November 29.

It is a speedy launch for the station, which was awarded the licence by Ofcom in May. It will broadcast from the same studios as GCap's Cardiff station Red Dragon.

Xfm beat seven other bids for the 106.8-107.3 FM frequency, which covers a potential 950,000 listeners aged 15 and above.

It has promised to showcase the new talent coming out of South Wales as well as bring the UK's big acts across the Severn to play sessions for listeners.

Dominic Barker, regional sales director at Xfm, said: "Now we've got a launch date for the new station we are working with both our programming team and our clients to develop a range of innovative sponsorship and promotions opportunities."

Xfm currently broadcasts on FM in London, Scotland and Manchester.
