WWAV focuses on training and development with new directors

LONDON – WWAV Rapp Collins has appointed three people development directors to focus on training and development across the group.

Olga Toombs has joined from London's Great Eastern Hotel, where she was director of human resources; Jane Allott joins the group from the Arcadia Group, where she was head of graduate recruitment; and Christina France joins WWAV's data marketing group Identix from her role as strategic consultant at Body Shop International.

A fourth appointment is to be made at WWAV Rapp Collins Edinburgh. The new roles will be different to the "traditional" human resources positions normally found in marketing services because they will focus entirely on training and development.

Helen Simpson, chief executive of WWAV Rapp Collins Leeds, said: "The appointments recognise the need to elevate our commitment to developing our people across all areas -- recruitment, induction, performance management, training and continuous learning."

All appointments will work closely with senior management to identify, develop and implement new and improved ways of working across all aspects of people development.

Chris Gordon, WWAV Rapp Collins group chief executive, said: "We all know the work environment has been tough, senior resource has been stretched and an increased workload has meant there has been less opportunity for 'training at the knee'.

"At the same time, there is increased competition for talent so it is imperative for us as a business going forward that we have the right professional support to help develop our people, keep them happy and motivated and thus ensure the continued success of our organisation."

Omnicom-owned WWAV Rapp Collins has 24 offices in Europe and more than 50 worldwide, with 3,000 direct marketing employees.
