Wunderman acquires and rebrands Shaw Marketing

LONDON - Sir Martin Sorrell's WPP has, via integrated agency network Wunderman, acquired US-based relationship marketing firm the Shaw Marketing Group.

As part of the acquisition, the agency will become part of Wunderman New York, and will be rebranded Shaw Wunderman.

Founded in 2002, Shaw employs 15 people. Richard Shaw, founder and president of the company, will remain at the helm.

Shaw has expertise in spirits and consumer packaged goods, and has a track record of helping Diageo build its brands, including Crown Royal, Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Guinness and Bailey's, through digital and offline forums.

Shaw's revenues for the year to December 31 2005 were $2m, with gross assets at $1.8m. WPP say this acquisition continues its "strategy of developing its networks in fast growing markets and sectors".
