
The Manchester-based firm will use the cash "to accelerate its plans to widen its service offering" and open offices overseas following recent moves into London and New York.
Two non-executive directors have been added in the reshuffle; Jim Faulds, founder of Scottish marketing firm The Faulds Group, becomes non-executive chairman, while Lord Michael Grade CBE, the former BBC controller, joins as non-executive director.
WRG has been behind some of the UK’s highest profile events in recent years, producing the G20 Summit in 2009 and the Papal visit in 2010.
"LDC’s investment provides a platform to further expand both our suite of services and our geographical reach – particularly in the emerging key markets of central and eastern Asia," said WRG chief executive officer Barry Day.
