LONDON - GroupM, the WPP Group media company, has acquired 75% of the share capital of Quisma, a German digital marketing agency.

Quisma specialises in keyword advertising, affiliate marketing and search engine optimisation.

Founded in 2001, the Munich-based company has 29 staff and revenue for the year ended December 13 of €15.4m (£10.4m). Clients include Expedia, AutoScout24, Delticom, and Vodafone.

This investment continues WPP's strategy of developing its networks in important markets and sectors and strengthening its capabilities in digital media.

GroupM, which includes WPP's media planning and buying networks MindShare, Mediaedge:cia and MediaCom, generated estimated net new billings of £2.42bn in 2006.

The company promoted its chief financial officer Rupert Day to chief operating officer in February. He has been with the network for 10 years and was part of the original team that launched MindShare globally.
