More recently Mohamed has been working as a consultant for SMS and mobile applications companies such as New Visions and Cellus.
At GT Network, which brings together WPP digital firms Good Technology, Incline and XM London, Mohamed will draw from her combination of marketing and online expertise to develop an aggressive new-business plan aimed at existing and prospective clients.
"Having worked on both client side and agency side, I want to ensure we continually provide clients with value, creativity and a personalised service through the various network specialisations," Mohamed said.
The appointment is the first recruited exclusively for GT Network, which is headed by Good Technology's founder and chairman Richard Davies.
WPP launched GT Network earlier this year with the intention of merging the three agencies, which for the time being will all keep their separate identities.
The merger gave Davies an expanded role and will see him seek out suitable agencies for acquisition in what marks WPP's first moves to increase its digital offering since the dotcom bust.
According to Davies: "Almira has been tasked with developing business across the network, drawing on the expertise of the individual companies. The network model allows each company to remain focused and provide clients with one-to-one attention but can also offer clients a wider service offering through the network."
