The custard fight, , was attended by 300 people, smashing the previous record of 271 people.

The pies, , were sold for £1 each, and raised more than £300 for Merlin's Magic Wand charity.

"The custard pie fight was a fitting way to say goodbye to Beanoland. Although we are sad to see it go we are excited about Chessington's plans for 2010," said Merlin's general manager of events, Michael Aldridge.

"The Park Side marquee within Beanoland is now closed for refurbishment, details of which will be announced once we have cleared up the mess, but VIP tickets that offer an executive experience without the venue are available until the park closes on 1 November," he added.
