The World: Sydney - TV show about the ad business gets second series

A TV show about the workings of the ad industry is to get a second series after generating a huge number of enquiries from people about careers in advertising.

The Gruen Transfer, a weekly discussion programme, has been averaging 1.2 million viewers a week on the main ABC channel, and sparked more than 100,000 downloads and streams from its website. Other media organisations have expressed interest in acquiring the format rights for the show.

Amanda Duthie, ABC TV's head of arts, entertainment and comedy, said: "We're excited about the success of The Gruen Transfer. Not only because it's an original Australian concept, but because it has worked on TV as well as online."

Meanwhile, the Advertising Federation of Australia said it had been flooded with job enquiries.
