The World: New York - Seinfeld seals deal to front $300m Microsoft ad

Microsoft has signed the comedian Jerry Seinfeld to front a $300 million ad campaign to be created by Crispin Porter & Bogusky.

The objective of the campaign, which will also feature other celebrities including the Microsoft founder Bill Gates, is to challenge Apple, whose sales are on the rise and which has a more contemporary image.

The campaign is expected to make Microsoft seem cool and less boring, as well as dispelling reports that its Vista operating system is unreliable. The campaign will break next week.
