The World: New York - MTV president quits after transforming business

Christina Norman, the MTV president, is quitting at the end of the month after a 17-year association with the company.

She is credited with helping transform the network into its current position as a reality-focused destination for youth entertainment.

Recent marketing and branded entertainment initiatives with companies such as Unilever and Procter & Gamble have begun to improve MTV's commercial ratings and redefine its commercial engagement model.

Van Toffler, the president of MTV Networks Music and Logo Group, will act as interim president. "I respect her decision to want to take the time to explore something new," he said.
