Eric Silver, the executive creative director of BBDO New York, has resigned from the agency, and is thought to be in advanced negotiations to replace Lee Garfinkel as the chief creative officer at DDB in New York.

Silver had worked at BBDO since December 2003, producing award-winning work for brands including FedEx, Monster.com and Hallmark.

He has 15 years' experience in the creative industry, working at shops including Wieden & Kennedy, Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Cliff Freeman & Partners.

Garfinkel joined DDB in March 2003, and played an important role in helping the agency win the Subaru of America business in 2004.
