The World: Mumbai - Times of India group unveils 'quality compact' title

The Times of India newspaper group has launched the country's first "quality compact", the Mumbai Mirror.

It is the first of a total of three newspapers that are expected to hit the city of Mumbai in the next month. The others are The Hindustan Times, already a leading daily in Delhi, and DNA, a new English-language paper published in a joint venture between Zee Group and Dainik Bhaskar.

The Times of India newspaper group has been testing launch ideas for almost two years, but the company claims the Mumbai Mirror took just three months to create from concept to launch.
