The World: Los Angeles - Fox plans cut in commercial break times

Fox is poised to shake up the commercial TV model by dramatically reducing ad breaks during two new drama series.

Fringe and Dollhouse are both expensively produced sci-fi series. To offset their cost, the network is planning to charge advertisers a premium.

Fox plans to air special two-hour premiere episodes of Fringe, Dollhouse and Prison Break at the end of August.

Peter Liguori, the Fox Entertainment chairman, said: "We're going to have less reason to use the remote."
