The World: Hong Kong - Verklin becomes Aegis Asia-Pacific chief

David Verklin, the chief executive of Aegis Media Americas, has extended his responsibilities and taken over the role of chief executive for Asia-Pacific. David Liu vacated the position two weeks ago.

Until Verklin takes over the role in October, the group's operations in Asia will be run by Thomas Wong, the chief executive for China, Koh Tai Hong, Carat's Singapore-based regional director for South-East Asia, and Richard Halmarick, the chief executive for Australia and New Zealand.

Liu joined Carat seven years ago as the chief executive of Asia-Pacific and has worked on clients including Adidas, BMW, Pernod Ricard and Pizza Hut.
