The World: Hong Kong - TBWA to revamp eBay brand in Chinese market

EBay Eachnet, the China-based online auction site bought by eBay in 2003, has appointed TBWA\China to its creative account, following a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies.

The agency has been briefed with revamping the brand in the Chinese market over the next three months.

Ruth Ang, the managing director of TBWA\China, said: "We are delighted that Eachnet has decided to hand its advertising campaign to us."

This week, the Chinese authorities announced they would be monitoring 533 online shopping websites (including Eachnet) on a weekly basis to check for false advertising or misleading claims.
