The World: Ho Chi Minh City - DDB wins controversial telecoms pitch

S-Fone, the Vietnamese telecoms provider, has handed its creative account to DDB Vietnam after a controversial pitch process.

Agencies were dismayed about having to comply with stringent rules and deadlines while completing a lengthy pitch document.

Five agencies were believed to have been involved in the initial pitch, but the number quickly dropped to two - DDB and Ogilvy & Mather.

S-Fone attracted similar problems with a review of its $3 million media business, which stalled after demands by the client that agencies should have to pay to pitch.
