The World: Beijing - J&J kicks off Olympic sponsorship creative pitch

Johnson & Johnson is calling a global creative pitch for a Beijing Olympic Games sponsorship project, estimated to be worth in excess of $100 million.

The pitch will include all of the company's roster agencies, including McCann Erickson, Lowe, JWT, Ogilvy & Mather, DDB and TBWA.

The first presentations will be held in New York in early April. A second round of pitches will take place in Shanghai in May.

The pitch will be run by J&J's recently appointed global advertising and communications vice-president, Joe McCarthy, who moved to the cosmetics company from StrawberryFrog New York.

J&J has set up a specialist Olympics team headed by Mike Hsu, the former head of its consumer franchise division, to help leverage its sponsorship investment for the China games.
