The World: Amsterdam - ING pulls Renault F1 sponsorship after scandal

ING, the Dutch financial group, has withdrawn its sponsorship of the Renault Formula One team after the constructor admitted to cheating during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.

The company had already announced plans to pull out of F1 at the end of the current season, but withdrew its sponsorship early, saying it was "deeply disappointed" by Renault's actions.

At the same time, Mutua Madrilena, the Spanish insurance group, also pulled its sponsorship of the team. Reports said the company, a partner of Renault F1 since 2005, had asked for its logo to be removed from the cars.
