William Grant hires Bacardi chief marketer Stella David as chief executive

LONDON - Bacardi¹s outgoing chief marketing officer, Stella David, is set to join William Grant & Sons as chief executive.

David will take up her role at the Scotch whisky group and owner of distribution business First Drinks on 10 August.  She replaces Roland van Bommel, who is stepping down.

David joined Bacardi in 1994 as marketing controller, rising through the ranks to become chief marketing officer in 2005. During her tenure, she oversaw the launch of Bacardi Breezer.

Last month, William Grant appointed Maurice Doyle, another ex-Bacardi executive, as group marketing director. Doyle, who held the position of managing director of Bacardi Global Travel Retail, will also join Grant¹s in August.

Bacardi¹s global gin category director, Andrew Carter, will replace Doyle.

William Grant & Sons¹ brands include Glenfiddich, Gordon¹s and Hendrick¹s Gin.
