LONDON (Brand Republic) - US agency Wieden & Kennedy is understood to have beaten London agencies WCRS and McCann-Erickson to win a global branding assignment for Vodafone, the world鈥檚 largest mobile phone operator.
In February, Havas-owned WCRS was thought to have won the UK portion of the account, which had been handled by BMP DDB since 1996. Two months earlier, McCann London landed the phone company鈥檚 $75m (£52.28m) account for a pan-European brand-image programme, but it is not clear at what stage this is.
Estimated global spending for all Vodafone advertising is about $400m (£278.84m).
