Wickes renews its deal with TalkSport

Wickes has renewed sponsorship of the Weekend Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSport in a 52-week deal rolling over from last year.

The deal was brokered between media agency Mediaedge:cia, radio station TalkSport and Wickes, the home improvement and DIY chain.

Wickes is looking to increase brand awareness and promote its range of in-store products to tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts.

It is already the official home improvement partner of The Football League Championship and sponsors the Wickes Young Apprentice Trophy.

The Wickes Weekend Sports Breakfast Show goes out on Sunday between 8am and noon.

TalkSport, now owned by UTV, was launched as Talk Radio UK in 1994 by Luxembourg-based media group CLT.

It was rebranded as TalkSport in 1998, when the station was bought by former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie through his company TalkCo Holdings, later renamed The Wireless Group.
