As Event has reported, RFID technology is set to boom in the UK and

Intellitix, which works with AEG and Live Nation, has launched a portable, low-cost version of its RFID hardware called the MiniPortal.

The new system allows organisers to quickly set up and deploy an RFID access control system, making events ticketless so that guests can enter by swiping a wristband or another RFID-enabled device.

It can also be used to implement other possiblities with RFID, such as cashless payment systems and social media integration.

As with the full-size system, the mini version offers speedy RFID chip reading and LED and sound indicators.

The difference is that it can be powered using an ethernet cable or USB link, and mounted onto frames of any size, making it simple and fast to use.
