The Westminster Collection appoints fifth director

Joint marketing venture The Westminster Collection (TWC) has appointed Allyson Hargreaves as fifth director to its board.

Hargreaves acts as business director for St Martin-in-the-Fields and oversees all commercial activities on-site.

She has been a committee member of the Strand, Aldwych and Trafalgar Square Association since 1966, is a member of the In and Around Covent Garden Association, founding member of the GLA and Trafalgar Square Neighbours Group, and  deputy chair of the Stand and Whitehall Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

A recent TWC survey has found that its group of 25 venues has spent £125m refurbishing and upgrading its venues in the past five years.

"Business tourism was worth £3.2bn to London in 2006, when last researched, and the greater proportion of this was achieved in Westminster," said TWC chief executive René Dee.

"Westminster business tourism accounts for 2.3% of GDP."
