Britvic Hello, Britvic customer care, (name) speaking, how can I help?
Mktg Hi, I'm calling about the Turbo Tango foam drink. I've got a couple of questions about it because it seems curious. Does it actually quench your thirst?
Britvic I believe so, yes.
Mktg Because the way I understand it is that it squirts a foam into your mouth.
Britvic Yes, it starts as a foam and then disperses as a liquid in your mouth.
Mktg How does it work? I read that it uses aerosol technology, does it use deodorant cans?
Britvic No, it's in a plastic bottle and there's a device that you squish down at the top. It is still a fizzy liquid in the bottle and when you press the button it goes into a foamy thing that you put in your mouth, but then goes back into a liquid. I don't believe it's aerosol but I will double check (Mktg is put on hold).
Britvic Hi, I can get all the information you need together and give you a call back.
Mktg That's OK, I just had a couple of other things to ask.
I found out about the drink because my little sister saw it and she got really excited. How much has it been tested, because kids do stupid stuff? How dangerous is it if somebody squirts it up their nose?
Britvic It's not dangerous at all, none of our products are harmful to children - it's just for a bit of fun. You can only buy Turbo Tango in cinemas at the moment, you can't buy it in stores.
Mktg So it's a little supervised.
Britvic Erm, kind of. I don't know if it's going to cause more trouble than not in cinemas, but there's nothing harmful in there if it does go up the nose or in the ears, it's a little bit of fun.
Mktg Why is it stocked in cinemas? It must be quite loud.
Britvic No, it's not loud.
Mktg So there's no spray sound?
Britvic There's not a spray sound or anything like that on it at all.
Mktg OK, thanks for your help.
Verdict
The call-handler was able to answer all Marketing's questions politely and in full. They were sensitive to our concerns about how children would treat the product, and offered to gather more information and call us back. The only slight downside was the admission that Turbo Tango might 'cause trouble' in cinemas.
