The Week: Silburn rejects TBWA offer to stay at Saatchi & Saatchi

Paul Silburn, the creative partner at Saatchi & Saatchi, has turned down the chance to return to TBWA\London as its executive creative director.

Silburn was in the latter stage of contract talks about taking the top creative spot at the agency.

However, after prolonged discussions that started before Christmas, he decided earlier this week to stay at Saatchis.

No reason has been given for his choice, and both Silburn and Tim Lindsay, the president of TBWA\UK & Ireland Group, declined to comment. TBWA\London will continue to look for an executive creative director to replace Steve Henry, who left the agency in July last year after a difference of opinion with Lindsay about the agency's creative direction.

Silburn has been the creative partner at Saatchis, sharing the role with Kate Stanners, for just over a year. He is a former executive creative director of Fallon Minneapolis.
