Sir Anthony O'Reilly is to retire on 7 May from his role as the chief executive of Independent News & Media and director of the board. O'Reilly, the largest shareholder in IN&M with around 28.5 per cent of the group, has been with the company for the past 36 years. He will be replaced by his son, Gavin O'Reilly.
