The Week: People News - ITV in chief executive hunt

ITV has launched a search for a new chief executive following the announcement last week that its executive chairman, Michael Grade, is to stand down.

Industry names linked with the role have included the minister of communications, Lord Carter, and the former Channel 4 chief executive Michael Jackson, while internal candidates are likely to include John Cresswell, the chief operating officer, and Rupert Howell, the managing director of brand and commercial. However, City sources suggest that ITV will look outside the media industry.
