Guardian News & Media, the publisher of The Guardian and The Observer, is planning to make 50 editorial staff redundant by the end of the year. GN&M told employees that it is looking to reduce staff numbers in the editorial department from 850 to 800 as part of a bid to cut costs by £10 million.
