The Week: People news - GfK chief hits out at Sorrell

Klaus Wubbenhorst, the chief executive of the market research company GfK, has hit out at Sir Martin Sorrell after he said that GfK staff should be worried about their jobs if its planned merger with TNS goes ahead.

In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Sorrell, who made a second unsuccessful bid for TNS on Tuesday, said the merger would leave both companies with surplus staff in France and Germany. Wubbenhorst wrote to GfK staff accusing Sorrell of using "morally irresponsible" tactics, and claiming that the merger would actually generate additional jobs.
