The Week: Media news - RadioCentre accuses BBC

RadioCentre has accused the BBC of promoting established acts, including U2 and Coldplay, over new up-and-coming bands, which it believes is detrimental to the growth of the music industry.

Despite the BBC having a strict policy on endorsement, the commercial radio body claims that the BBC logo had been used exclusively to promote Coldplay's worldwide Viva La Vida tour. It will now take its complaint to the BBC Trust.
