ITV is expected to broadcast an extra X Factor programme each week during this summer's run of the successful talent contest.
The broadcaster is looking at launching a Sunday-evening X Factor results show to follow the usual Saturday-night broadcast. The move could generate more revenue from advertisers and provide a rival to the BBC's Sunday evening Strictly Come Dancing results show.
