The Week: Media News - Facebook fifth for UK users

Facebook, the social networking site, overtook the BBC's associated websites this week to take the crown as the UK's fifth most popular website.

The web measurement company ComScore reported that the site's traffic had risen 80 per cent since September 2007, pulling 18.4 million unique users in August this year. Yahoo!, Microsoft and eBay are still ahead of the social networking site, while Google, whose network of sites includes YouTube, remains the most visited online destination in the UK with 31.8 million unique users during September.
