The Week: Media news - BSkyB threatens Ofcom

BSkyB has threatened legal action against Ofcom's plans to force Sky to lower the prices it charges rivals to broadcast its sport and movies content.

Jeremy Darroch, the Sky chief executive, criticised Ofcom's proposals and said that Sky will use "all available legal avenues to challenge this unwarranted intervention". Ofcom published its initial proposals last week following a lengthy review of the pay-TV market and will now hold a further three-month consultation before delivering its final proposals.
