The Week: Media news - BBC blasted over festival

The BBC has been blasted for sending more than 400 members of staff to cover the Glastonbury festival, at a cost of up to £5 million.

The corporation sent 405 employees, including 150 freelancers and 130 short-term contract staff, to work at the event, with coverage spread across BBC2, BBC3 and BBC4, as well as on a number of radio stations and online sites.
