Freemans has lost one of its top marketers in a reshuffle as the company
plans to accelerate its move into selling catalogues direct to the
consumer.
Lindsay Nuttall, Freemans’ general manager for marketing, is leaving the
company at the end of August.
She is understood to have a new job but was unwilling to divulge
details. However, it is known that she has been in talks with parent
company Sears about future opportunities within the group.
A month ago Nuttall, 37, told the company she was ready for a move
having done the job for which she was recruited.
‘I was briefed to set up a marketing department, introduce
telemarketing, DRTV and new agency recruitment. I have done my job and I
want a fresh challenge,’ she said.
Nuttall arrived at Freemans from Franklin Mint where she was marketing
director. Prior to that she was at Saatchi & Saatchi and Bates Dorland.
She was recruited last year to develop relationships with Freemans’ top
performing agents of its main catalogue, known as Freemans’ Finest, who
contribute the majority of sales.
But the company is looking to expand its direct-mail catalogue business
as the ‘big book’ business reaches saturation point.
