The Week: Agencies line up for £13m Magners UK advertising brief

Magners has called a pitch for its £13 million UK and Ireland advertising account.

The process is being handled by the AAR. It is not yet known whether the current incumbents on the account, Young Euro RSCG and Euro RSCG London, will be invited to repitch.

The Dublin-based Young Euro RSCG currently handles the advertising for the C&C Group-owned brand's original cider range, with Euro RSCG London working on its pear variant.

Euro RSCG London recently launched an integrated campaign to help raise awareness of Magners Pear, which featured Mock The Week's Mark Watson.

The TV ads used the strapline "100% pear, 0% disappointment" and were supported by digital, direct marketing and sales promotion activity.

News of the review follows a reshuffle of Magners' marketing department, which saw Paul Bartlett join from Scottish & Newcastle as the marketing director, replacing Maurice Breen.
