The Week: Advertising news - Ryanair and ASA clash

Ryanair and the Advertising Standards Authority have submitted complaints about each other to the Office of Fair Trading.

After the ASA referred one of the airline's ads to the OFT on the grounds that it was misleading, Ryanair retaliated by sending a formal complaint that the ASA had "demonstrated a repeated lack of independence, impartiality and fairness" in rulings against it. The ASA has ruled against nine of the airline's ads in the past two years.
