The Week: Advertising news - ASA bans Fiat 'green' ads

The Advertising Standards Authority has banned two print ads for Fiat for making misleading claims over the price of its low-emission cars.

The ASA said two ads, by Krow Communications, reflected the lowest-priced cars in the ranges, rather than the prices for the greenest models. A statement referred to the CAP Code, saying: "Prices quoted in motoring ads should correspond to the vehicles illustrated."
