LONDON (Brand Republic) – UK gameshow export The Weakest Link netted its largest audience share to date during its third broadcast on US television on Wednesday night, attracting 17.5m viewers.

The rating made it Wednesday night’s most watched show on US TV despite being harshly criticised by US newspaper columnists.

The show attracted 15m and 14m viewers on Monday and Tuesday putting it in second place behind popular US sitcoms Frazier and Everybody Loves Raymond in the most watched US TV show stakes.

The show, featuring Anne Robinson as a dominatrix style host who criticises contestants who give the wrong answers, will now move to a once-a-week spot on US TV network NBC.
