The promotion ties in with Christmas with a picture of a startled turkey and the strapline "There'll be no turkeys from Virgin Wines". It will be delivered on November 12 and 13, in order to give people time over the weekend to consider the offers.
The products promoted include cases of wine, themed Christmas Survival, Luxury and Gift, and individual bottles tailored to customers' personal tastes, based on their previous selections and preferences.
Virgin Wines has provided another incentive to purchase from the mailer by offering a free copy of 'The Virgin Wine Guide' book, worth £9.99 at retail.
Direct response agency WDMP handled the creative, production and mailing elements of the campaign.
Shiona McDougall, marketing director of Virgin Wines, said: "Displaying more than 30 single bottles and 15 cases of wine in an interesting way is not easy. WDMP embraced our trademark humour to present this offer boldly while also managing to include the mass of detail required. It's stylishly executed and well-timed: we predict a good response."
