WDMP hires Liquid's Parsely to head new business

LONDON - Direct response agency WDMP has poached Sam Parsley from Liquid Communications to head up its new business operation.

The agency is expanding following a number of new business wins in 2005, including Egg, Chelsea Football Club, Betfair, Pharmaton and Honda, plus the consolidation of the Carphone Warehouse's whole direct marketing business into the agency.

Craig Wheeler, managing director of WDMP, said: "We want to maintain this momentum through strengthening the dedicated resource to the new business function, plus this new appointment will enable us to tackle new and as yet untapped client sectors."

Parsley currently manages Liquid Communication's new business. She has previously worked as game show host on Sun Cruises before moving to direct response firms, Rapier and Clark McKay Walpole.

She will be joining WDMP at the end of the month and takes responsibility for finding new clients and managing the agency's marketing.

WDMP also poached copywriter Phil Blackmore and art director Lou Ellis from Proximity London earlier this month. The appointments come less than eight months after Fraser Metcalf joined the agency from rmg:Black Cat as creative director.
