Hamilton becomes the group marketing director with a brief to unearth new-business leads for WCRS and its sister companies, EHS Brann, Arnold Interactive, Conran Design and Steam. The move is intended to boost the identity of the Arnold Group as an integrated organisation, rather than a collection of agencies.
Hamilton, who will report to WCRS's chief executive, Stephen Woodford, left McCann-Erickson UK and Ireland last autumn following differences of opinion with the now departing chief executive, Tamara Ingram. He had worked as McCann's marketing director for three years, having been appointed by the former chief executive, Ben Langdon.
Hamilton said: "I'm looking forward to my new role - with all the creative strengths of this group we can really offer best-in-class expertise, unlocking the brand potential by discipline that others have overlooked."
WCRS will be hoping to capitalise on a solid new-business performance in 2002, when it landed accounts such as Prudential, Nectar, Pret a Manger and InfoNXXX.
