
Sony is launching two new e-readers, priced at £179 and £249, for the growing e-book market. The products are also designed to take on Amazon's Kindle, which has become the market leader in the US.
Customers who take up the offer will by able to download their copy of the book when the novel is launched on September 15.
The two e-readers will be launched on September 10 and Waterstones have an exclusive deal to sell them until a week after this date. The Sony Reader Pocket Edition will have a 5in screen and can hold around 350 books. The £249 Reader Touch Edition has a 6in screen, has a touch screen panel and a keyboard.
Waterstone's commercial director Neil Jewsbury said: "The Reader from Sony is the market leader, and these new models can only bring more people to digital reading. It's very exciting too to be able to give new Reader users a download of what should quickly become the biggest e-book of all time."
